The WHY of creation Part 1 / The Invisible made visible

In some of my past articles and blog entries, and in numerous radio shows with Randy Maugans on The Threshing Floor, and with Vyzygoth on Think or be Eaten, I have written and spoken at length on the history of creation. Almost all these articles and shows addressed the topic of HOW all things that we can see with our eyes were created by the INVISIBLE GOD. So far I have not addressed the subject of why God created anything at all. In order to understand the WHY of creation we need to investigate why God is invisible. The following scriptures tell us that God the Father is invisible:

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

The word invisible in the original Greek language is the word AORATOS and is defined as follows: aóratos; gen. aorátou, masc.-fem., neut. aóraton, adj. from the priv. a (G1), without, and horáō (G3708), to see. Invisible, that which cannot be seen with the physical eyes. The definition is pretty straightforward and means pretty much what we expect it to mean.

If we understand that God the Father is not a corporeal being; he does not, or he did not have a body in the beginning, then it becomes easy to understand why he is invisible. So what does the bible tells us about God the Father, not the Son of God or even The Holy Spirit, but rather that person that the bible calls God the Father? Galatians 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father,…

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God = The Word (The Intelligence, The Reason, The Logic, The Language, The Sound or the intelligent energy expressed through sound whether audible to the human ear or not. ) This scripture tells us that God the Father is the Intelligence that is infinite (Psalm 147:5), and this intelligence is pure energy, it did not exist in a corporeal form and therefore it is invisible. We could conclude, without being in error, that God is a mind that did not inhabit a body in the beginning. A mind is not visible, at least corporeally, and therefore God the Father is invisible. How do we know that this intelligence that is God is energy? The answer is found in Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful,… The word ‘Quick’ in this scripture means ALIVE, and the word ‘Powerful’ means ENERGY; so we can rephrase this verse as follows: The Word of God is alive and energy or the Word of God is living energy. Since the Word is God, we can conclude that God the Father is living energy, not a corporeal being, and therefore he is invisible.

Energy can be converted into matter which is how the universe came into being, God the Father, the living energy shaped that energy into matter using his intelligence. So nothing came into existence randomly or by chance; everything material came into existence by a transforming of energy into matter, infinite energy that is not subject to time or space. This energy of course is God, and this energy is intelligent and sentient which is how intelligent creatures like man that are also subject to feeling and emotions, are sentient, like their creator came into existence.

If God the Father is pure energy that is an intelligent person yet not a corporeal being then it stands to reason that he is invisible exactly as the bible teaches. So the purpose number one of material creation was to make the invisible God visible. Romans 1:20 states, ‘For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead.’ Material creation testifies loudly and clearly of the creator. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. Material creation reveals to us the creation, the various facets of our creator. The infinite universe speaks to us of his infinity, the heavens and the celestial bodies like the sun, moon and stars speak to us of his highness and loftiness, of his majesty and royalty. Earthly buildings reflect the glory of the builder, Buckingham Palace for instance speaks of the glory of the English royalty, and so do the heavens declare the glory of God as the psalmist testifies. Granted man is too stupid and too greedy and too self centered to even look up and reflect upon the heavens, and to understand what they reveal but nonetheless they are constantly speaking to us.

Each age of creation has revealed to his creation, his intelligent creation, more of the creator. As chronicled in my Chronology of Creation series, all of God’s creation did not appear magically and instantaneously, it has unfolded slowly, and over many ages spanning eons, periods of time that may have lasted millions of years, the exact time is impossible for us to determine, only God knows for sure. As Romans 1:20 tells us that the very nature of God, his eternal power, his Godhead maybe clearly seen, may be understood by the things that are made, things that are visible speak to us of the invisible God. So one of the purposes of creation was to make the invisible God visible, this has happened in a series of revelations that have lasted several ages until the present age which is the penultimate age of creation. We are now on the cusp of the full revelation, of knowing fully, of seeing clearly not darkly through a glass; 1 Cor. 13:12, For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. That which has been revealed is so lofty, so high, so magnificent, and so powerful that it could not be done instantaneously. It had to be done slowly and progressively; everything that has happened has happened according to plan including the origin of evil and of darkness as embodied in Satan. However there is more to material creation or the purposes of material creation than meets the eye.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. This scripture clearly explains that God created all things for His own pleasure; the question is how does he derive pleasure from his creation?
