Here’s a question I received from a reader / listener in regards to some of my research that I presented in a radio program on The Threshing Floor that aired some time back. Question: Could it be that the 'evil' you speak of which God created (this I believe since God is the creator, and Satan cannot create - only distort or morph) continues to this day by inhabiting Satan's seed, (some people) which started in the Adamic creation with Eve copulating with Satan (rather than eating of the apple - sunday school teaching) and Cain was the result of this, his offspring, and so forth? Added to this was the Nephilim having sexual relations with Noah's daughters, etc.
There are some questions that this reader has asked that are based on (mis) information floating around cyberspace for quite some time. I have arranged these queries in a list that I will respond to individually:
1. Does Satan have ‘physical’ bodily human seed or descendants that many claim he does?
2. Did Eve have sexual relations with Satan?
3. Was Cain a son of Satan, and not a son of Adam?
4. Who are the Nephilim?
5. Did the Nephilim have relations with Adam and his children’s daughters?
6. Or was it the sons of God mating with daughters of men that produced the Nephilim and other hybrid creatures?
There are many strange doctrines that have originated from this teaching that Satan, and other angelic beings are able to produce offspring by having relations with women? I can answer all of the above questions by simply stating that the Bible places no emphasis on physical descent being of importance either for salvation or for condemnation. It is the spiritual state of a person that determines his ‘goodness’ or ‘evilness’. And therefore all of the above theories of hybrids and different species mating and producing children are unbiblical. 1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. The Jews had a tradition of maintaining lengthy genealogies to prove their descent which they equated with righteousness, that is, if they could prove their descent back to Abraham they could claim that they were automatically chosen for salvation. Jesus however shot this idea down in John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He told the Jews that physical descent was of absolutely no significance; that though it was true that they were the physical children of Abraham; it was of greater significance that they were the spiritual children of the devil. So even if it were true that Cain and his descendants were the physical offspring of Satan it would matter not a bit because God would classify them as no worse than the children of Adam. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Gen 6:5 tells us that ‘… God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.’ The judgment of the flood came upon Earth not just because of Cain and his children but because of all men with the exception of Noah. According to the bible all the other children of Adam through Seth were just as wicked as the children of Cain. So if the evil nature of man is a spiritual problem why do so many keep insisting on make it is a physical problem limited to a certain lineage or bloodline or race? The Jews though the descendants of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were just as wicked if not more so than their gentile Canaanite neighbors. I hope the point has been made and proven that the degenerate condition of man is not because of his ancestry but because of the wickedness of the heart. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.
Having concluded that it is irrelevant how a man calculates his genealogy, I will now address the question of Satan’s seed. Satan has a seed or seeds, is not doubtful; the question is whether the seed is physical or spiritual. I think the preceding paragraph ought to answer this question and we need not spend more time debating it. Nowhere in the bible do we find Satan, or angels, or fallen angels, or any other spirit creature mating with humans and producing offspring. In one and one instance only did a Spirit, the Holy Ghost and flesh unite and produce an offspring, the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. This is what made Jesus the ONLY BEGOTTEN for there is only Spirit, God, that is able to impregnate a human and bring forth a man child. This has happened only once in all of time and that was when Mary became with child of the Holy Ghost and gave birth to Jesus. Never had that happened before nor has it happened since that time and this is the reason why Jesus is identified as the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God, and why He alone is unique amongst all the creatures of God. It is simply not possible for spirit creatures, ethereal creatures to mate with corporeal beings and produce offspring. Therefore when Jesus spoke of the Pharisees’ father being the devil, or John identified Cain as being ‘of the wicked one’, it is obvious that the corruption being referred to is a spiritual one not of the flesh. Satan’s seed therefore are all his spiritual offspring, not corporeal ones; he has no corporeal offspring, at least among men.
2. Did Eve have sexual relations with Satan? No, if you can find it mentioned somewhere in the bible that she did, let me know!
3. Was Cain a son of Satan, physically speaking? The answer is no, and the following scripture ought to answer the question quite clearly, and leave no doubt as to whose son Cain was, according to the flesh!
Gen. 4:1 “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD”.
· Adam knew Eve, meaning he had relations with Eve, not Satan!
· Eve conceived because of her relations with Adam not Satan!
· Eve bore Cain because she conceived after she had relations with Adam not Satan!
So then whose son was Cain, Adam’s or Satan’s?
